ABOUT O'CONNELL & COMPANY
O’Connell & Company Productions is a non-profit professional theatre organization dedicated to entertaining through educating, inspiring, and creating community with the performing arts. We celebrate the essential part of the theatre to illuminate our common humanity by presenting regional premieres, popular classics, musicals and plays with strong female characters and/or female playwrights, directors and works that center on the empowerment of women. We make these important choices to provide gender parity in the arts.
Founded in 1995 by award-winning actress Mary Kate O’Connell, past performances have included: an all-female production of “1776 The Musical”, a regional premiere of “The New Mel Brooks Musical: Young Frankenstein”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Baby”, “Nunsense”, “I Do! I Do!”, “Six Dance Lessons In Six Weeks”, “Musical of Musicals-The Musical”, “Buffalo ZINGS, Hot, Tedium & Wild!”, and O’Connell & Company original, “DIVA by DIVA: A Celebration of Women!”, WNY’s longest-running production currently in its 20th Season.

O’Connell & Company is a proud member of The Theatre Alliance of Buffalo (TAB). The Theatre Alliance of Buffalo is a consortium of Western New York professional theatre companies dedicated to promoting the welfare of its member organizations and the appreciation of the art of theatre.
TAB was founded in September 2004 when sixteen professional producing theatres from Western New York came together in an unprecedented and groundbreaking partnership. Since its inception, TAB has grown to over 20 member theatre groups governed by by-laws and elected officers. Regular monthly meetings and various committees have resulted in a shared database of over 75,000 contacts, allowing for a multitude of cross marketing initiatives to take place. Additionally, TAB rolled out its own website in March 2009, bringing a “one-stop” approach to finding information and links to its member organizations. For more information about TAB, please visit their website: http://www.theatreallianceofbuffalo.com
A promotional video was produced by TAB in 2011 to demonstrate the vibrance and importance of the WNY theatre community. To view this video, click on this link: BUFFALO: All the City’s a Stage.
The 2017-2018 lineup of shows has been announced. As a flex-pass holder for two seasons with high school friends…O’Connell & Co. shows do not disappoint! Looking forward to another season of great local theatre at reasonable prices at a convenient location.
I’ll be honest: “Breast in Show” is a challenging show to watch. It’s poignant. It’s terrifying. If you’ve lost someone to cancer, it brings up things that you can’t watch (which is why I had to leave early). I can’t imagine the impact on cancer survivor or those who are powering through. All that being said, see it. Especially if you’ve never been touched by cancer before. Your eyes will open. You won’t be the same. This is the most important reason to support local theatre
We attended The Betsy Carmichael show Saturday evening and had a wonderful time! The cast was terrific and we are hooked on Betsy! The show was funny and fun! We loved the interaction. This was our first time at an O’Connell & Co. performance but we are planning on seeing many more. If Betsy decides to return again in the future, do yourselves a favor, DEARS, don’t miss her!
Some of the most entertaining theater in Buffalo! A great choice for theatergoers of any level!
